CAVT contribution to 5-star Safety Performance

All large vehicle manufacturers depend extensively on expertise from outside consultancies and contract engineering, but often like to present their company without reference to such input.

CAVT has supported one such global car company as part of a team of staff and external engineers by working on developing crash structures, belts, airbags, pop-up bonnets (hoods), crash-avoidance safety systems, insurance cost reduction.

Working with departments in China, Japan, Russia, Europe and USA, CAVT advised on design changes, organised and conducted impact tests in UK and European laboratories, analysed the results, undertook trouble-shooting and re-tests on an executive sedan, a pickup truck range and several ranges of crossover/SUVs including gasoline/electric hybrids.

CAVT is proud to have been part of a team which not merely met all targets for worldwide legal and insurance requirements, but exceeded the threshold performances for 5-star ratings in EuroNCAP, ANCAP (Australia), CNCAP (China) and ARCAP (Russia) and one 4-star EuroNCAP rating.
